  • Emmanuelle de l'Ecotais holds a PhD in Art History. An international specialist in the work of Man Ray, she began her career at the Centre Pompidou, then became Curator of Photography at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. Since 2020, she has directed the Photo Days festival, held in Paris every year and bringing together over a hundred venues in the French capital. She regularly organizes exhibitions in France and abroad, including: “Man Ray” (Grand Palais, 1998), “Düsseldorf School of Photography” (ARC, 2008), “Shape of Light, 100 Years of Photography and Abstraction” (Tate Modern, 2018), “Man Ray” (Centro Cultural - Banco di Brazil, 2019-2020), “French Photography Today” (Sungkok Museum, Seoul, 2024), “Man Ray and Max Dupain” (Heide Museum of Art, Melbourne, 2025).

    Author of books such as Dada Spirit (Assouline), Man Ray (Taschen, Delpire), Rayographs (Léo Scheer), she has also been a member of many acquisitions committees and juries of numerous awards, including the Pictet Photography Prize.
