Beomseok KWAK

Korean Curatorial Team: Fringe Photo Festival Curator

Born in 1976 in Uljin and currently based in Daegu, Kwak studied theology at Daegu Catholic University and photography at Yeungnam University Graduate Shool of Art.

Through lived experience, Kwak engage with the incidental and the everyday. In his work—whether depicting the sea, human figures, or other subjects—Kwak contemplate the Liminality between subject and subject, as well as between subject and photographer.

He participated in the main exhibition of the 2023 Daegu Photo Biennale, as well as in numerous solo and group exhibitions. His works have been published as photo books such as “Fai” and “Night sea & East Wind” and are in the collection of Daegu Art Museum.
