Korean Curatorial Team: Encounter VIII & Portfolio Review & International Photo Symposium Curator

Hyerin Seol is a contemporary artist and curator based in Seoul. She earned her BFA and MFA in Painting from Kookmin University and later completed her doctoral coursework in the same department. Alongside her artistic practice, she has actively pursued curatorial work, engaging with diverse projects that explore contemporary art in relation to contemporary art, nature, regionality, media, and technological convergence.

Her major curatorial experience includes serving as Assistant Curator for the Portfolio Review at the 2024 Daegu Photo Biennale and as Curator for both the main exhibition and the Portfolio Review at the 2022 Busan International Photo Festival. In these roles, she has contributed to introducing trends in contemporary photography and fostering connections between emerging and established artists at both domestic and international levels.
