Véronique ELLENA

French, born in 1966, works in Paris

Véronique ELLENA captures the quiet presence of everyday life. Using analog photography, she focuses on simple scenes—people, objects, places—and transforms them into images filled with stillness and light. Her practice reflects a deep interest in memory, spirituality, and the beauty found in the ordinary.

The series Pungryu (2025) was created at the request of the Sungkok Art Museum in Seoul. Photographed in the museum’s garden, which is slated for demolition, the artist sought to highlight the deep bonds between the museum’s staff and the trees that inhabit the space. Their tender gestures evoke a final embrace—a silent farewell.
