Yeondoo JUNG's Universe series, part of his solo exhibition The Inevitable, Inacceptable, was created in connection with Inevitable–Organ and Creator's Hands. Through a performance where an organist plays to blues rhythms while a percussionist scatters flour, cosmic images unfold on black marble.
In the winter of 2024, amidst Korea's social turmoil, the artist discovered metaphors of fermentation and life through "Greek," a cherished sourdough starter obtained from a Swiss couple. Stories of migration, nostalgia, and settlement unfold as a single narrative within the worlds of microbes and cosmos, as the work expands invisible microscopic processes into images of macrocosmic creation. Through this process, the artist questions the essence of life and the universe, and how we might relate to them.
